圖書簡介

“Macau’s Historical Flavors” is not a Macau food book, but a book about Macau, told through food. There are no recipes nor recommended eateries, but rather a collection of twenty stories documenting Macau’s hidden history, seen from the perspective of the spices, crumbs, and other foodprints left behind. From tales of Chinese and Portuguese explorers charting unknown waters to local politicians navigating administrative hurdles to combat rice security, each episode depicts how the pursuit of flavor shaped Macau’s identity and influenced the city’s lesser-known past.
