The second printing of Camilo Pessanha’s Macau Stories is set for 2026, which coincides with the poet’s centennial passing. Co-authored by Christopher Chu and Pui Man Hoi, Camilo Pessanha’s Macau Stories is neither an autobiography nor an analytical assessment of the writer’s work in Clepsydra. Instead, it is a Macau narrative, told from both first- and third-person perspectives to share a new voice for one of the territory’s most fascinating figures of the early 20^th century, as well as the Chinese city he called home.

Originally published in 2023, Camilo Pessanha’s Macau Stories has found an audience beyond Macau. In 2024, the manuscript was presented to the Vice-Rector of the University of Coimbra, the poet’s alma mater, before being photographed beside his Coimbra statue to symbolically “reunite” him with his beloved dog, Armino. Copies were also donated to the library at the Macau Scientific and Cultural Centre Museum in Lisbon, Portugal.

Earlier this year, both authors participated in Macao’s 15th Literary Festival to discuss Pessanha’s longstanding ties to the local Portuguese and Chinese communities. In addition to speaking at the opening panel of The Script Road at Casa Garden, both Chu and Hoi led historical walks connecting the lawyer to key moments in Macau’s history, including a stop at the Military Club where the Symbolist writer met with Sun Yat-sen in 1912 following the fall of the Qing Dynasty, as well as the Vasco Da Gama Garden where the poet’s 1898 São Gabriel sonnet was written to celebrate the 15^th century navigator.

 has also been celebrated by the international literary community, including New York Times best-selling author Paul French, who cited the book in his 2025 book Destination Macao and featured it in his new podcast.
